COTATCHA ORCHESTRA

The Big Band Cotatcha Orchestra (CZ, SK, AT, HUN) was founded by the trumpet player Jiří Kotača with a vision to play original big band music six years ago. Although as the big band grew over the years with each new repertoire, they kept changing. They have played compositions by legendary world-known authors as well as contemporary Czech works and have been through collaborations with renowned guests ranging from Ilja Reijngoud or Mar Vilaseca to Geraldyne Schnyder.

There’s something that has unintentionally matured in the big band background, however. It originated right in the core and it is tailored to the entire band and its soloists. In November 2020, the band will release their debut album Bigbandová elektronika (Bigband Electronics)  with the American label Parma Recordings.
